Ananda’s Adventure w/ Ch. 9/Connection of The Joy Diet & Next Chapter Book Blogging Group

Greetings All,

This week, my Next Chapter Book Blogging Group is reading Chapter 9 of Martha Beck’s The Joy Diet.  Click here to learn more about the Group’s insights on Chapter 9: http://tnc-thejoydiet.blogspot.com/2009/11/joy-diet-connection.html. I am halfway through reading the chapter.  When I think of connection, music comes to mind because it reminds me of my connections with others.  My connections with family and close friends have really been on my mind a lot.  Those connections are rooted in love.  Raheem DeVaughn’s The Love Experience CD has kept me company for the past few weeks.  The title song moves me so much. I play it a lot.  It has even been the soundtrack to my yoga practice too!  WOW what a connection to the music itself!  I have included a YouTube video featuring the song. Enjoy!

Enjoy your weekend!

Peace, Creativity, Compassion, and Connection,

Ananda

Ananda’s Next Chapter Book Blogging Group Adventure with Laughter from The Joy Diet’s Chapter 8

Greetings All,

As you all know, I have been reading The Joy Diet by Martha Beck with Jamie Ridler’s Next Chapter Book Blogging Group for several weeks. Click here to learn more about the group:  http://tnc-thejoydiet.blogspot.com/2009/11/joy-diet-laughter.html.   Last week I started reading Chapter 8 which discussed laughter.  I gave myself two weeks to really digest the chapter and deepen my practice of laughter.  The end result was a series of collages about laughter.  Each time I look at them, I giggle.  Maybe that will happen when you look at them too.  See my collages below.

Enjoy your day and weekend!

Peace, Creativity, Compassion, and Laughter,

Ananda’s Art Every Day Month Adventures

Happy Friday!

This week, I had a great time with my Art Every Day Month journal.  Click here to learn more about Art Every Day Month:  http://creativeeveryday.com/art-every-day-month.  For the past two weeks, I collected leaves from my neighborhood walks.  I used them in my journal collages.  I have also been using my collages as a part of my life coaching homework assignment that involves releasing.  After my new book, That Which Awakens Me: A Creative Woman’s Poetic Memoir of Discovery (http://www.iuniverse.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?BookId=SKU-000112557 and www.anandaleeke.com) became live, in color, and available for purchase on November 18, I felt this huge RELEASE.  So I made some collages, practiced yoga, meditated, went running (yes I am back to running – my 30 day birthday countdown!), and planned some fun outings with friends!  See my collages above.  Let me know what you think about them.

Make art every day!

Peace, Creativity, Compassion, and Joy,

Ananda

10 Cs of Social Media – A social media 101 presentation by Ananda Leeke

Happy Monday!

As a social media strategist and the D.C. Social Media Examiner for Examiner.com, my job is to know about social media.  This summer, I created a PowerPoint presentation that provides an overview of social media.  I have used it with my clients.  The presentation also represents content from my upcoming book Sisterhood, the Blog: Soundbytes from the 21st Century Women’s Online Revolution (Summer 2010).  Today, I loaded it up to SlideShare.net.  Check it out below. Let me know what you think. I hope it helps you understand social media.

New Moon Affirmation Collage: Releasing old dreams, originally uploaded by anandaleeke.

Greetings All,

For the past week I have been working on releasing habits, thoughts, behaviors, and things from my spirit, mind, heart, body, breath, and life that no longer serve my highest good. It is an assignment my life coach/yin yoga teacher Yael Flusberg of Y Elements (http://yelements.com)  gave me during our last session. It is an assignment that I must do every day in some way.

I am also using rituals like smudging , meditations, and yoga poses and breathing exercises that focus on the yogic principle of aparigraha (http://www.yogaatsantosha.com/Inspirations_santosha_yoga/Entries/2009/6/1_Entry_1.html). Collaging has also been a great visual affirmation. That’s why I created a releasing dead dreams collage. What I am discovering with this visual affirmation is some new spaces of peace inside of my spirit. I am taking it slow. It is a life process. Lighting candles and incense in my home also help me set the tone for my releasing process.

Are you releasing anything from your life?

Peace, Creativity, Compassion, and Releasing Energy,

Ananda

Watch Video of Diverse People Read the Charter for Compassion

Greetings,

I invite you to watch a very powerful video featuring a diverse group of people and children reading the Charter for Compassion which was unveiled by British author Karen Armstrong today in Washington, D.C.  See below.  Click here for more information:  http://charterforcompassion.org.  My favorite part of the video is:

“We urgently need to make compassion a clear, luminous, and dynamic force in our polarized world.”

WOW!

What are your favorite parts?

Enjoy your day!

Peace, Creativity, and Compassion,

Ananda
