Happy Creativity Thursday: Be the Most Brilliant Color in the Box

Happy Creativity Thursday!

As a creativity coach, I am always in search of creativity wisdom to share with my clients. Earlier this week while most of Washington, D.C. was shut down due to the snow, I took a field trip to Lettie Gooch, a fabulous boutique located in my U Street neighborhood (15th and U Streets, NW) and discovered an inspirational card that urged me to be the most brilliant color in the box. That color would be pink since it reminds me to open my heart and share my gifts with others. Click here to listen today’s podcast for more information.

Since you are also the most brilliant color in the box, what color are you?

Happy Creativity Thursday: Intentionally Living A Creative Life

Happy Creativity Thursday!

The topic of intentionally living a creative life came up during a recent creativity coaching session with a client. I shared how I have developed an intention to have creative moments in my life on a weekly basis and their impact on my artwork, writing, books, creativity coaching services, and work as an artist-in-residence for Smith Center for Healing and the Arts. These moments energize me and allow me to explore new ideas. They excite and leave me in a state of awe. They teach me. They often push my edge. Sometimes they console my sadness and help me face fears and doubts. They are medicine for my creative spirit.

Listening to music in the morning is one of my favorite creative moments. It awakens my spirit and opens my heart. This morning, I began my day with London-based Omar’s new CD, “The Man.”
See photo above. To learn more about him, visit http://www.omarmusic.co.uk.

Guess what? Omar’s music is featured in my debut novel, Love’s Troubadours – Karma: Book One. It will also be included in my upcoming novel, Love’s Troubadours – Symon: Book Two.

How does music inspire or impact you?

What music are you currently listening to?

Happy Creativ Thursday!

Today, I spent the afternoon with one of my first creativity coaching clients, Sharon Malachi, owner of DC Dog Grooming, LLC, at Teaism, a tea cafe located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in Washington, DC. I started working with Sharon on her creative plans and goals to promote her business in 2010. Through our work together, she developed creative storytelling skills that she used with her blog, social media sites, and television interviews. Helping her grow as a creative business woman has been exciting,  personally fulfilling, and inspiring. That’s why I decided to use my 2014 Creativity Thursday blog posts as a platform for sharing my creativity coaching expertise. So get ready!

Happy Creativity Thursday and Happy Halloween!

During the Blogalicious Weekend Conference that was held on October 3 through October 5 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, I had an opportunity to conduct creativity coaching sessions with a dynamic group of bloggers and social media influencers. It was my first time offering 15-minute sessions. During the sessions, I used a breathing exercise, six-word memoirs, key questions, and deep listening to support each person in identifying strategies they could begin using to focus on their creative dreams and projects. After the sessions, I realized how much I enjoyed working with the Blogalicious Weekend Conference community. That’s why I am offering community members a special discount package on my creativity coaching services that expires on December 31, 2013. See details below.

How did you spend the first day of 2010?

Happy New Year!

How did you spend the first day of 2010?

I did some work for my company Kiamsha.com, LLC.  I met my new creativity coaching client Sharon A. Malachi, owner of Miracles with Paws, a dog grooming, pet sitting, and dog educational services company, at U Street Cafe and the Starbucks on 16th and U in DC. We worked on her company name, brand, philosophy, motto, blog, and social media strategy. It was a lot of fun. Pure joy and play. Delicious. Magical. Amazing. Transformative.  I will blog about Sharon’s new business on Sisterhood, the Blog (http://sisterhoodtheblog.wordpress.com) next week. Look for a video on Ananda Leeke TV too.  Enjoy your first weekend of 2010!

Peace, Creativity, Compassion, Gratitude, and Joy,

Ananda
