Strengthen Yourself

When I struggle (which happens regularly) with mind drama and stress, I often choose to use one of the 1,440 minutes I get each day to notice my body, MAKE MY BREATH MY BFF, and meditate. Meditation is one of my go-to mindfulness practices I use to strengthen myself.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and helped me build and sustain the Thriving Mindfully Academy and Community since it began in April 2018!

My heart is filled with deep gratitude as I think back to April 2018 when Thriving Mindfully Meetup Group was launched as a weekly Mindful Monday Meditation class in partnership with my Qi Kratom CBD Tea family — Kai Kai, ee, and Gigi in my U Street neighborhood in DC.

The Thriving Mindfully Meetup Group quickly became a sacred space and community because of the people who showed up, sat in meditation, and shared their vulnerabilities in Mindful discussion.

Leading the weekly classes and retreats, hosting moon circles and workshops, holding space, feeling held by the community, and being supported by guest teachers Angel Dungee and Corey Castle, sound healer Sincere, and community members ee and Vince were gifts from the Creator and you I will always cherish. Many thanks to our resident Martin Parker for blessing us with your amazing baked goods.

When the pandemic began in March 2020, the weekly class became virtual. The Thriving Mindfully Academy was also born to support a wider audience of people who needed my coaching support in navigating the ups and downs of living through a global pandemic.

I am so grateful to everyone who joined the community and participated in the virtual classes and retreats.

Special thanks to guest teachers Ayesha Ali, Juneous Pettijohn, and Maria de Los Angeles for sharing your gifts with the community.

Today, I am proud to say the Thriving Mindfully Academy has expanded into an online learning platform and membership site that inspires and in-powers you to be present, well, and the REAL YOU in your life, relationships, and career.

As we move into May and beyond, I look forward to serving you as your Thriving Mindfully Coach.

Dealing with Mind Drama Ain’t Easy!

Dealing with mind drama ain’t easy, especially when it happens first thing in the morning. My mind drama comes from the pressure I put on myself to overachieve and thoughts and feelings of unworthiness caused by comparison, self-criticism, and self-judgment.

I have learned to embrace mind drama as an invitation to soften my gaze and heart towards myself. I use 5 softeners as my self-care vitamins: loving kindness. compassion, nonjudgment, patience, and forgiveness. They turn the volume down on the mind drama and help me create a safe space in my mind and heart to connect with the TRUTH of who I am. They also help me begin releasing and forgiving the comparison self-criticism, and self -judgment. Watch the video above learn more.

Full Moon in Libra: Release & Forgiveness

The Full Moon in Libra happens Saturday, April 16th. It invites us to slow down, release, forgive, and celebrate how far we have come since the Full Moon in Virgo.

I am honoring the Full Moon in Libra with my Self-Love Language practice of reclaiming my time with readings from my oracle and tarot cards, mindful journaling with music, art-making, and tea this weekend.

Sitting in the sun this morning gave me an opportunity to use my Self-Love Language that helps me celebrate myself just because I am who I am. Watch the video below to hear my reflections.
